Open Access sessions are an opportunity for members to work at your own pace with access to the full range of equipment in the workshop.
These are not teaching sessions so you do need to know the process you are coming in to use. There are expert printmakers facilitating each Open Access session who will help you if you’re a little bit rusty or if you don’t know your way around the workshop too well.
One to One sessions are a good way of learning a new technique or brushing up on a technique you have already done. They are individually tailored to your needs and at a time convenient to you rather than waiting for a workshop programme event.
The session is 3 hrs long and involves intensive tuition for the first hour and then 2 hours studio time to try the technique. The cost is £35 for the session plus any many materials you may use.

Although all our Open Access facilitators have a broad knowledge of all the printmaking methods we offer, each has a particular specialism.
The studio operates an open access policy where printmakers can come on certain days to use the facilities. An experienced printmaker is on hand to offer help and advice where needed, but this not a formal teaching session
Open Access sessions can be a way for printmakers, familiar with processes, to work independently on personal projects or to explore the range of printmaking activities that are available at SPW.

Full members can take advantage of reduced rates for these sessions.
Open Access Sessions:
Morning sessions:10.30am to 1.30pm
Afternoon sessions:2.00pm to 5.00pm
Cost:
Ordinary members: £9 per 3 hour session
Full members: £6 per 3 hour session
