There is a thriving 'Thursday Night Drawing Group' in the Print Workshop, run by long-term volunteer Steve Jones. It's an informal drop-in for both experienced artists and people who want to give it a go. The sessions are not taught and run for three hours, with a half hour break. We work with a rota of professional models of all ages and body types and Steve is happy to take suggestions for poses from the participants. As the life drawing room used to be a dance studio, there are large mirrors behind the model which add interest and a more complex perspective to the poses.

The full session runs 6.30 - 9.30pm with a half hour break at 8.00. Steve normally has a series of shorter poses in the first half, with a longer, often a full-hour, pose after break. Tea and coffee is available at 30p per cup.

You can buy paper at the session if you want, starting at 20p a sheet for newsprint; 30p for A2 cartridge; 40p for A1 cartridge. We also have an extensive stock of top quality art papers such as Zercoll, Somerset, Bockingford, Fabriano etc from £1.70 - £3.50 per sheet. You will need to bring your own drawing materials.

Session costs depend on membership status:

Full members - £5.00

Ordinary members: £6.00

Non-members - £7.50

For half a session, members pay £3.00, non-members pay £4.00.

There is no need to book - just turn up.

There are occasional life drawing teaching days headed by experienced lecturer Yvonne Daters. These are normally on at weekends and we'll advertise them on the website.
