We are offering free training in an artists’ studio working with professional artists and arts administrators Swansea Print Workshop is a small, friendly artists’ studio specialising in Printmaking. It is an Open Access facility which means that it is available to all sections of the community. Our Internship program offers a closer look inside our organisation and gives you the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of our activities: Arts Practice Gain an understanding of what is required to set up specific workshops. Join printmaking workshops in cyanotype, collagraph, or photo screenprinting and produce your own work. No previous experience is necessary Arts Administration. Or you may be more interested in gaining arts administration experience in events management such as exhibitions and artist’s talks, marketing and publicity, website development and any other tasks that contribute to the running of our organisation. This is a remarkable opportunity to take advantage of some free training and find out how useful experience and training as an intern can be to your career and future employers. We are especially interested in working with young people who are considering a career in an Art and Design related area. We particularly welcome young people to join us as interns as this provides you with varied work experience as well as giving you an excellent way of putting a comprehensive portfolio of work together. How do you get involved? Contact Swansea Print Workshop for an Internship application form or download from the website. Once we receive your completed form, we will arrange an informal interview with you. There are a limited number of places available and these will be filled on a first come first serve basis. If you are successful, we will help you select a programme that will suit you. The programme of opportunities is printed on the back of this leaflet. Don’t worry if it looks rather daunting, we will help you make the choices. You will need to choose a minimum of six sessions including the two compulsory sessions. You can do up to 10 sessions of training and in addition you have access to studio to open access time as a member of the workshop. There is no charge for the training and your working materials will be supplied. The whole programme will run twice, The first one starts in November on daytime schedule and the dates are listed below. The second one starts in February 2009 and will run on evenings and weekends. Additionally we can offer successful applicants expenses towards their travel costs. Programme These are the areas of training and activity we can offer you.
