We completed three projects in 2011
Exchange with Edinburgh Printmakers:
Four artists from Swansea Print Workshop and four from Edinburgh Printmakers took part and had the opportunity to exchange printmaking bases for ten days. This was ab exciting opportunity for our selected artists to work in Edinburgh and to host visitors to our Workshop from Scotland.
Digital Imaging Project
Swansea Print Workshop has been awarded an Arts Council of Wales Training Grant of £3,750 towards our ‘Digital Imaging’ project.
Youth Volunteering Project
Swansea Print Workshop was awarded a GwirVol Youth Volunteering Grant of £7,306 in October 2010 towards our Young Volunteers Community Arts Project.
This project gave six volunteers, aged between 20 and 24, the opportunity to contribute to their community through the delivery of printmaking workshops to four community groups. The Young Volunteers worked alongside experienced artists and arts administrators to receive the skills to plan and run the project as well as deliver the printmaking workshops.
The team of Young Volunteers were selected in November 2010 for the roles of Project Assistant, Marketing/Events Assistant and Community Artists.
Since the completion of the project, they have successfully formed themselves into a professional group [Kaleidoscope] and have obtained support from Swansea Council for Voluntary sevices to launch their own programme of events.
