Web Site updates
We would like to have more current work to view and for sale on the website. You can email the images and information directly to Jackie on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for her to upload anytime. All Full members are entitled to space on the website to sell their work and it would be good to see as much current work as possible. If you look at Judith Stroud’s entry you will see the sort of thing we need. Please factor in 20% commission for the studio.
If you have your own website please send the links to Jackie to add in. If you come across any websites you think are interesting and useful, we can add these to our links page for everyone’s benefit.
Funding Success!
We are delighted to tell you that we have been successful in receiving a grant from the Arts Council of Wales towards our ‘Drawn to Print’ project. This year-long project will start in March and will explore the breadth of the relationship between drawing and printmaking, looking at how drawings can be translated into traditional and non-traditional print processes through three artist residences and a variety of activities over the year.
We will be advertising the artist in residence opportunities in March but if you, or if you know anyone who has an interesting or unusual approach and who would be good to work with, please let us know so that we can approach them directly.
Keep an eye on our website for current news, events and activities. SPW is also on Facebook and Twitter. You can use this link - http://twitter.com/SPrintWorkshop or search 'SPrintworkshop' into Twitter. Join and get the most up to date news.

The current exhibition showcases the work of Matthew Otten and Jenny Mynett.

The Oriel Ceri Richards Gallery at the Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea University, offered Swansea Print Workshop the opportunity to curate an exhibition which was on show for three weeks in August.
This was an excellent opportunity to showcase the work of selected artists in this popular and prestigious gallery. After a selection process the following artists were chosen.
David Barron Bill Chambers Alan Figg
Sarah Hopkins Robert Macdonald Judith Stroud
The work of Paul Peter Piech will also form a part of the exhibition.
The exhibition were August 6th - 26th 2011.
The Private View was on Friday 5th August 6pm to 8pm.
Press release:
"The wonderful variety of techniques used by artist/printmakers will be on display at the Taliesin Art Centre in August when six leading printmakers from Swansea’s renowned Print Workshop hold an exhibition of their recent work. It will also be an opportunity to see some of the linocuts produced by the late Paul Peter Piech, an American who came to live in Wales and who focused in his printmaking on issues of Welsh political and historical identity. The six living artists exhibiting are David Barron, Bill Chambers, Alan Figg, Sarah Hopkins, Robert Macdonald and Judith Stroud, all members of the Swansea Print Workshop which in recent years has become a centre for artistic innovation and adventurous outreach projects. Together their work encompasses almost all the main printmaking methods from the most traditional etchings and aquatints on copper to silk-screens employing the very latest digital manipulation."
At present we are offering full members exhibiting opportunities in Cafe Nisse in Wind Street and the Junction Cafe.
National Eistedfodd 2011
Members were offered the opportunity to display work at the Eistedfodd through a project run by the Original Print Place, Cardiff and funded by the Arts Council of Wales. The project set out to give printmakers in Wales an exposure to the many thousands of visitors the Eistedfodd enjoys every year. The stand looked really good.
