Background
Born in Bishopthorpe, York 1930, gained N.D.D. Sculpture Special Leeds
1952 and A.T.D. Liverpool 1953. After Two years full time AA teaching
in Broad Lanes Sec. Mod. School, staffs. Gained associate of Royal
college of Art, Sculpture 1959. Lectured part-time in Scarborough and
Blackpool then full-time on the Foundation Course at Swansea College of
Art to retirement from S.I.H.E. Alumni print artist with Ruth Parmiter
in Townhill Campus S.I.H.E. which proved to be a fine specialisation
together with weekly Life Drawing at 19A Print Workshop. At present at
Print Lifelong Learning Class, Dynefor Campus and Full Member of Swansea
Print Workshop.
Artist's Statement
Fine Art is my main interest and I use the methods of
printmaking to produce images of power. I prefer variable Editioning to
conventional Editioning. Some subjects: Large Poppies, Life Drawing
(models posing and artists drawing models), The Two Greek Art School
Casts, Blackpill “Roman” Bridge, Ginko leaves, “Cats” dancers, Swansea
Ballet Russe Dancers, Sparrows (Endangered Species). |
