Etching facilities
SPW also has the facility for etching copper, aluminium and zinc.
For etching aluminium and zinc, copper sulphate crystals and etching trays are available in the degreasing area.
For etching copper, a vertical etching tank is maintained capable of immersing large copper plates.
We keep a number of different etching grounds, both acrylic and traditional and have allocated areas for applying and removing them.
An aquatint booth equipped with an acrylic spray compressor allows fine aquatints to be laid simply and safely.
