THE PROJECT
A new website has just been launched to document this project: www.kingslanewarehouse.org.uk please visit and register your support for this project.
The project is to convert the 19th century Warehouse in Kings Lane, Swansea to house a regional centre of excellence for fine art printmaking and a new home for Swansea Print Workshop
This will bring together in one building all the facilities necessary to support the training and continued professional development of an established, proven and vigorous artistic community and encourage it to flourish.
It will provide a dedicated shop window for printmakers in Wales. On this scale it will be a unique, purpose built facility in Wales. It will provide a regional focus for the advocacy of all print related practice.
As a centre of excellence it will provide a concentration of resources, where the experience and expertise of artists working in the region can be fully exploited for the benefit of all sections of the community.
As such it will be a hub for all aspects of professional activity

A networking centre for consolidating and reinforcing our links with other artistic communities, both nationally and internationally

Additionally Swansea will have an iconic building with first class architectural credentials which demonstrates a convergence of aspirations for Swansea Print Workshop and Swansea’s programme of regenerating this run down area of the city.
