COMMON INVESTMENT FUND December 2005: Artists in Residence accommodation: Castle Ward £1,000 December 2005: Workshops for Asylum Seekers: Blaenymaes £1,000
These workshops were delivered as part of the national Festival of Muslim Cultures UK:2006 and Swansea Print Workshop’s year long programme of artists residencies, masterclasses, exhibitions and a wide range of community involvement in the festival. See SPW print project archive: Festival of Muslim Cultures.
The workshops were made possible through our collaborative partnership with Gorseinon College’s comprehensive engagement with the local community through the Common Investment Fund initiative. The Common Investment Fund The CIF is to promote collaborative working to bring about improvements in the learning infrastructure, the quality of the learning experience and the quality of the learning environment, for the benefit of stakeholders in learning across Wales. In March 2005 Local Education Authorities (LEAs) and Further Education Institutions (FEIs) were invited to submit proposals on behalf of learning partnerships to show how they would use a grant allocated by ELWa, a former Assembly Sponsored Public Body (ASPB) whose functions are now part of the Department for Education and Lifelong Learning and Skills, from the Common Investment Fund (CIF). |
