BETTER SWANSEA COMPACT FUNDING

Swansea Council for Voluntary Services provide vital support services for voluntary groups in the area. Training courses, advice on all aspects of good practice in the voluntary sector, volunteering and access to funding opportunities are just some of the ways that the Workshop has benefited over the last ten years.

2005-8: Projects, Programmes and Administration Coordination

Better Swansea Compact Funding: £35,000 over three years 2005-8

Swansea Print Workshop were awarded a grant to put in place an administrative support structure. This has a quarterly review of targets and outcomes.  New systems of book keeping, financial control and database were set up initially and the collection of other statistics refined. Targets included: Strategic Planning, Financial Control, Programme Co-ordination, Volunteer support and Marketing.

2003: part time administrative post for one year £10,000 .

The Council has ring fenced some monies for use by the voluntary sector. The criteria for the use of this funding – Compact Funding has been developed jointly

Compact Agreement Between The City And County Of Swansea And The Voluntary Sector

As part of the Better Swansea Partnership's Action Plan for 2005 - 2020, in relation to the Compact Agreement, the Partnership agreed the following strategic outcome -"Clearly defined relationship between the voluntary and community sector and Swansea's key agencies"

The Development Team at SCVS offers support and advice to voluntary and community organisations in Swansea whether they are well established or just starting out.
